慈济寺又称花神庙，本来庙门正对面有一正殿，两边各有偏殿，1860年英法联军焚毁圆明园时，作为圆明园附属园之一的淑春园同时遭遇焚毁，园中建筑多毁废无存，慈济寺也毁于这场灾祸里，只有寺门得以保存。 对照阅读
History
The Ji Ci Temple is also called the Flora Temple. Just opposite of the gate, there was once a main hall and two smaller halls. But in 1860, there was the burning of the legendary Garden of Perfect Brightness (Yuan Ming Yuan). As a part of that Garden, the Shuchun Garden was burned at the same time and few constructions survived. The Ji Ci Temple was destroyed in this diaster, and the gate was the only thing to be preserved.
